My teaching spans introductory courses in literary and cultural studies as well as specialised modules in postcolonial English literature, diaspora, migration and transnational studies, popular cultures, film and media studies, gender studies, ecological approaches to literature and culture, and academic writing and research skills. My teaching philosophy is grounded in critical inquiry, dialogue, and creative engagement. I encourage students to read closely and think comparatively, situating texts within their historical, political, and intermedial contexts. Across my courses, I place particular emphasis on questions of migration, home, and interspecies belonging, and on the ways human identity is shaped by determinants such as nation, race, gender, class, caste, and ability. My aim is to activate analytically rigorous minds which are ethically attentive to the role of arts, literature and humanities in producing more imaginative empathies and deepening our sense of responsibilities to one another .
