Context: Ru is seated in his high chair, ready for snack time.

Me: Should we eat hami melon or apple today?
Ru: (without hesitation) Hami apple!

A few hours later.
(We are getting ready to put Ru to sleep, all snuggled in bed and about to say goodnight.)

Me: Ru, can you give me a kiss?
(at the same time)
Tu (Ru’s father): (teasingly) Ru, give me a kiss?
Ru: (looks at both of us, pauses, then gives me a peck on the cheek and says) “Oomma” (then turns to his papa, gives him a peck on the cheek and says) “Oompa”.
